Pro Roof Builders Plus
What We Offer
Pro Roof Builders Plus of Gimli, MB, installs durable Torch-on roofing systems, TPO roofing systems, EPDM roofing systems and Tar-and-Gravel roofing systems for commercial buildings. We also provide commercial roof inspections.
GAF Torch-On Roofing
Torch-on roofing, also called torch-down roofing, is especially effective for flat roofs. Torch-on roofing usually consists of two layers of an asphalt-based material coated with a thermoplastic substance. The bottom layer is fastened to the substrate of the roof with screws and washers. When subjected to the heat of a propane torch, the thermoplastic coating between the two layers melts and the two layers then fuse together.
The greatest advantage of torch-on roofing is the durability of the material. Additional advantages include lower maintenance costs and resistance to ultra-violet rays. Unlike tar-and-gravel roofing, which is also commonly used on flat roofs, torch-on roofing doesn’t require gravel, which makes it lighter and prevents blockage of drains and eaves.
GAF EPDM Roofing
EPDM is an extremely durable synthetic rubber roofing membrane (ethylene propylene diene terpolymer) widely used in low-slope buildings. Its two primary ingredients, ethylene and propylene, are derived from oil and natural gas. An EPDM rubber roof is incredibly long-lasting and durable. The rubber recycled and used for the synthetic membrane isn't damaged under the sun's UV, or ultraviolet rays. If installed correctly, you can expect a rubber roof to last in excess of 50 years.
GAF Tar & Gravel Roofing
This system is also referred to as "built up roofing" (BUR). Tar and gravel roofing is a well established and popular style of flat roof that consists of layers of roofing felt or fibreglass and asphalt that are adhered to the roof surface with molten asphalt. The multiple layers are flooded with hot asphalt and washed rock to act as a ballast and protect against UV degradation, for a long lasting sturdy roofing system.
The gravel embedded on the top coat of asphalt (The flood coat) protects the underlying layers from the elements, including ultraviolet rays and natural threats like roof hail damage and heavy rains.
Tar-and-Gravel roofs have a life expectancy of 20 to 25 years.
GAF TPO Roofing
Short for thermoplastic polyolefin, TPO is a single-ply roofing membrane that offers excellent performance at a cost-effective price. Heat-welded seams provide superior strength. TPO's long term heat, UV, and natural fungal resistance, plus flexibility without need for plasticizers also make TPO a reliable low-slope roofing system.
In the past 20 years that TPO has been in the field, it's become one of the most popular products used for low-slope roofing. TPO makes up over 50% of single-ply roofs being installed today.
The rapid rise in popularity can be associated with several of TPO's inherent benefits, including great value, excellent seam strength, long term weathering, energy saving, inherently flexible, naturally fungal resistant and versatile application methods.
The experienced staff at Pro Roof Builders Plus provides thorough roof inspections. We inspect flat roofs, tar-and-gravel roofs, shingle roofs, and metal roofs.
All inspections are conducted by highly-trained employees, who provide detailed written reports, noting any issues with the roof, including leaks and faulty installation. Inspections can be done for maintenance purposes or to help you evaluate a property prior to purchase.
